Just a peek at some of the things I do for practice. I draw ovals on piece of paper and create a face out of them. I try to make each face have a different look and personality. I may use them in the future as illustration ideas for stories.
What kind of personality do you think each face has? Let me know in the comments section below.

Sketch of The Day: 27/03/2015: Arinna, The Sun Goddess
"...all that's best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes:
Thus mellowed to that tender light
Which Heaven to gaudy day denies."

Finished Piece: Orisha Oshun
It's amazing how a piece can transform during the journey between idea to finished piece. I started painting this with every intention of staying true to the sketch. But then I started to explore and make mistakes. Those mistakes led me to this finished piece and I'm happy with the way it came out.
Oshun, whose signature colour is yellow, is the Youruba deity of fresh waters, love and prosperity. I'm hoping that she smiles on me in the months ahead.

Finished Piece: Leonard Nimoy Spock Tribute Art
I looked at the sketch again and realised that it was way too busy. So I pared it down to the line-art which I think gives it a vintage sci-fi look.
RIP Mr Nimoy. Thank you for breathing life to one of the most memorable characters in tv & cinematic history.
Sketch of the Day: Tribute to Leonard Nimoy as Spock
Just a tribute to my favourite Star Trek character: the original half man, half Vulcan played to perfection by Leonard Nimoy.
RIP.
